Duodji is a Sami handicraft and cultural tradition. The Sami are an indigenous people and have created their clothes and functional and decorative items from natural materials and developed the handicraft called duodji.
A wood duojár works in small handicraft enterprises and workshops, such as enterprises devoted to artistic handicraft, domestic crafts or handicrafts.
A wood duojár produces, repairs and maintains traditional and new products made of wood, outer birch bark and roots, such as sledges, river boats, Sami cradles, harness, ladles, wooden cups and vessels (guksi ja náhppi) and storage objects. The wood duojár also develops new products from the perspective of an indigenous people.
