Duodji is a Sami handicraft and cultural tradition. The Sami are an indigenous people and have created their clothes and functional and decorative items from natural materials and developed the handicraft called duodji.
A textile duojár works in small handicraft enterprises and workshops, such as enterprises devoted to artistic handicraft, domestic crafts, handicrafts, design or textiles. Another relevant collaboration partner or work place is the textile industry.
A textile duojár produces, repairs and maintains traditional Sami costumes and accessories, covering material for lavvos (traditional Sami tents) and other traditional functional textile articles and textile decorations for duodji products made of other materials than textiles. The textile duojár also develops new products, design and fashion from the perspective of an indigenous people.
