A sailmaker designs, constructs, repairs and maintains various types of sail and other textiles on boats.

Key tasks include:

• Construction and design of various types of sail in order to achieve the required strength and aerodynamic shape
• Use of sewing machines and hand tools, and the adjustment of sewing machines
• Gluing of sails
• Sail repair
• Quality assurance and HSE

You must have a good appreciation of form and be dexterous, creative and meticulous.
