Key tasks include:

• installation, intervention, repairs, and maintenance on sub-sea equipment and units
• working up SJAs (safe job analyses) for one's own and group activities
• use of flow charts, tool systems for completion, reporting systems, and project documentation
• troubleshooting, inspections, and Deviation Condition Reports
• evaluation of maintenance programs
• handling parts warehouses

A drill operator for sea-floor installations must be able to work systematically, be precise, and work independently. Teamwork skills are also very important. The workday will take place at onshore and offshore facilities. Good social and communications skills are required, along with the ability to adapt to new technologies, new equipment, and the latest working methods.
