A gunsmith’s tasks are based around the practice of recreational hunting and sports shooting. Key tasks include:

• Repair and production of gun parts and guns used in hunting and sports shooting.
• Machining, assembly and treatment of various materials.
•  Assembly of guns from manufactured and purchased parts
• Forming of products, aesthetically and functionally, according to the requirements of the trade
• Offer guidance on technical issues concerning guns and ammunition
• Maintenance of machinery and workshop
  

This trade requires that you are accurate and have an appreciation of form, as well as the ability to utilize specialist tools. You must also be able to work alone.
