Cabinet makers are involved in the manufacture of furniture, woodware and wooden interiors, from the drawing stage all the way to the finished product. Key tasks include:

• Production planning and calculation of costs
• Use and maintenance of stationary carpenter’s machines and hand tools
• Selection of appropriate materials, machining and assembly
• Utilize mechanical assembly methods such as, dovetailing, planing and mortising, but also modern techniques as well
• Use veneering and plastic laminating techniques and other surface treatments, gluing and laminating using correct tools and methods.
• Adaptations for fitting locks; fitting locks, fittings and other equipment
• Design, draw and make by hand, with the aid of computer technology
• Quality assurance and HSE

You must be creative, dexterous and precise and have a good aesthetic appreciation.
