Key tasks include:

• front-line maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment
• reporting deviations
• assessment, planning, and organizing work
• working up SJAs (safe job analyses)
• support operations

As a drilling and maintenance operator, you must be able to work on a team. The work is laborious, executed in difficult weather conditions, far out at sea or thousands of metres underground. This job makes great physical and psychological demands. One generally works 14-day shifts at an offshore installation, with long working days. Social skills, a positive attitude, and positive behavior are important.
