The power-supply fitter is usually employed in state, municipal, private, or public companies running power-supply plants, or with the Norwegian State Railways Agency. The power-supply fitter works within the sector responsible for making sure that industries, private users and the public sector get the power supplies they need.

Sentrale arbeidsoppgaver

The power-supply fitter's tasks primarily involve installing, maintaining, repairing, and starting up operations at electrical plants – for example:

electrical wiring systems of high and low-voltage
signaling and remote-operated systems
electrical cable systems of high and low voltage
power-supply plants/networks
various station installations
electrical installations for buildings
railway and streetcar operations
mechanical and hydraulic equipment

Power-supply fitters do routine maintenance and inspection to prevent damage or wear-and-tear on electrical installations or equipment, and run situational troubleshooting and repairs of electrical installations and equipment.
