A maritime electrician works on board a ship or other maritime installations.
A maritime electrician is responsible for the ship–s electrical instruments. The work will include the following tasks:
The work is physically demanding. Good eyesight, good hearing and generally good general health are required. A maritime electrician should be careful, creative and solution oriented. You should also be able to work independently and cooperate well with others. The work requires a high level of responsibility. Good English proficiency is an advantage.
As a maritime electrician on Norwegian ships, fishing vessels and moveable installations, you must satisfy the requirements for safety training and documentation in the STWC Convention. You must also have an approved medical fitness certificate issued by an authorised seafarers– doctor.
