If you have to live away from home to attend upper secondary school
- The county authority must help you find a place to live if you cannot stay at home.
- They can offer a dormitory or student housing, or help you get in touch with a landlord.
- You have to pay the rent yourself.
- You can apply for a away-from-home grant (borteboerstipend) from the Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund (Lånekassen) to cover part of the cost.
- Talk to your school or the county admissions office if you want to know how this works.
- If you are offered a school place in another county, the county where the school is located is responsible for helping you with accommodation.
