Bricklaying involves the laying of new brickwork, as well as the rehabilitation and restoration of older brickwork. Key tasks include:

• brickwork and blockwork
• laying tiles, wet room work, and fluid membranes
• slating and laying of natural stones
• plastering and surface treatment
• construction and mounting of fireplaces and other fire sources.
• inserting and mounting pipes and piping parts

In bricklaying, many modern devices and remedies are employed, but traditional trade methods still dominate the field. You should be meticulous, practical-minded, good with your hands, and in good physical condition. The bricklayer should be able to to work systematically and communicate with customers and colleagues.
