As a coil fitter, you may find employment with companies that build, install and maintain electrical machines, such as transformers, generators and motors for the production, distribution, and utilization of electric power.
For small machines, coils are made from spinning thin metal threads which are shaped and placed round an iron around an iron chain to create a magnetic effect.
For larger machines, coils are constructed from heavy wires packed together in coil packs.
