Special courses on offer in your county

Some schools in some counties offer special courses. Such special courses could provide specialization within a programme area (e.g. Sports and physical education with alpine skiing or Specialization in general studies with top level sports) or a combination of programmes for vocational education and general studies (e.g. Vocational competence and general university admissions certification – YSK).

You will find an overview of the special courses on offer in your county under each programme area on the pages about the education programmes (the range of studies on offer will be ready in January). You can also find more information on this page, if your county has published information below.

Nordland

Nuortta-Sálto joarkkaskåvllå / Nord-Salten videregående skole tilbyr idrettsfag med friluftsliv. Tilbudet gjelder på Vg1, Vg2 og Vg3 nivå. Tilbudet er åpent for søkere fra hele fylket.

Sandnessjøen videregående skole tilbyr yrkesfaglig studiekompetanse. Dette er et fireårig løp hvor elevene får både fagbrev som oppdretter og spesiell studiekompetanse.

International Baccalaureate is offered at Aust-Lofoten Upper Secondary School. 

How to apply the IB-programmes: 
• You should send in an application to vigo.no by the deadline, March 1. 2025. If you do not have a Norwegian identity number, or do not have records of previous secondary school education in Norway, you will need to fill out an application form in paper format. 
The paper application form may be obtained directly from the school.
• All applicants must also fill out an IB application form that should be sent directly to the appropriate school. 

Notice of Admission and Acceptance : 
All applicants (including those who have filled out application forms in paper format) will receive an answer on approximately July 7th.
