Reindeer husbandry, skilled worker (craft certificate)

Key tasks include:

• Ensuring the welfare of livestock
• Organizing breeding programmes
• Management of reindeer grazing areas and natural resources
• Identification and description of livestock using traditional methods
• Planning and implementation of daily tasks, alone and jointly with others in the work community and planning of tasks in a long-term perspective
• Maintaining the reindeer husbandry industry’s interests and rights in the community in general

You must enjoy working outdoors and feel comfortable with animals. You must be able to work on your own; however, the ability to work and get along with others is important. You should be interested in Sami culture, nature and environmental issues.
