Agriculture, fishing and forestry

A skilled worker in equestrian trades may work with the care and use of horses in commercial enterprises, recreation and breeding. Common to all these areas is that the skilled worker has the following tasks:

• Daily care of horses, i.e. control, feeding, cleaning and bandaging
• Evaluation of various types of feed, quality and amounts for various horses
• Control, maintenance and cleaning of stalls, riding halls and outdoor facilities
• Transport of horses, loading and unloading of horse boxes and trailers
• Training of horses by riding and/or driving
• Information to customers, horse owners and others

You must be comfortable with animals and practical-minded. This type of work has a lot in common with jobs that involve round-the-clock responsibilities and shift work, so you must be able to cope with inconvenient working hours.
