Hand bookbinders work at bookbinder’s workshops, libraries and archives.

Key tasks include:

Repair of antiquarian books and documents
Handbinding of archive materials for storage in the regional state archives and the national archives
Handbinding of smaller production runs
Production of address folders, boxes and cassettes
Handbinding of bibliophile editions
Treatment of metals for gilding of columns and folders
Maintenance and minor repair of machines and equipment

You must be meticulous, efficient and able to work on your own. You must be dexterous and have a good aesthetic appreciation.
