In-depth study areas include painting or floor work. Key tasks include:

• protection, maintenance, coloration, decorating and restoration of interior and exterior surfaces
• use of different kinds of painting materials, levelling masses, floor sheeting, and wall-coverings
• applying paint, lacquer, and stain systems
• set-up of systems for wall-covering
• laying and surfacing systems for floors
• mounting profiles and mouldings for floors in dry rooms

The painter should be able to work independently, be rational, and plan well. He should have a high degree of technical know-how and be able to work well with customers, suppliers, and colleagues. He should have certain qualities, such as a sense of order, cleanliness, and precision. The ability to communicate well with people from different cultures and environments is also a big advantage.
