Rock blaster and miner (craft certificate)

Rock blasting includes mining operations with a view to extracting raw minerals and other natural resources, drilling, blasting, and other jobs related to rock foundations. Key tasks include:

• Surface-rock work, mining operations, tunnelling, or crushed stone and gravel production (in-depth study areas).

This occupation involves everything from manual labour to the use of technologically advanced machines; it may require dexterity and technical insight, and you should be in good physical condition. The rock blaster and miner works independently and in groups, which makes demands on one’s ability to work together with other people. Also required is a high degree of knowledge and proficiency in the field. A healthy consideration of nature, the environment, and natural resources is also important.
