When applying for jobs shortly after finishing upper secondary education and training - and particularly when applying for an apprenticeship place - the enterprise may perhaps put more emphasis on your absence from school than on your grades when considering whether to employ you.
Absence during your apprenticeship
During your apprenticeship you are an employee and you must follow the rules of both the enterprise and working life with regard to self-certification of absence and doctor’s certificates for absence. If you have any other reasons than illness for being away from work, you must apply for leave beforehand.
If you have any irregular absence, or if you often come too late for work, you may risk the enterprise sacking you and cancelling your apprenticeship contract/ training contract. If you have prolonged absence due to illness or other necessary reasons, your apprenticeship period can be extended.
