Child care and youth workers adapt and select appropriate educational methods in their work with children and young people between the ages of 0 and 18. Key tasks include:

• planning, management, execution and assessment of educational activities for children and young people
• organize games and physical activities based on each person’s functional level and life situation
• the use of arts and crafts, song, games, music, literature and drama in one’s daily work
• communication with people with different cultural backgrounds, philosophies of life and social status
• working together with children and young people, parents or guardians, colleagues and other partners
• intervention, conflict resolution, and being a clear adult role model

It is important to be able to apply theoretical knowledge in practice. You must be conscientious, have good powers of observation, be good at making contact with people, have the desire the work with others and the ability to interact with them as a team.
