Assessment during in-service training

The training establishment is to give you periodic assessment without grades.

The periodic assessment is to

  • act as a tool for the learning process
  • provide a foundation for adapted training
  • help you develop your competence in the trade

The periodic assessment is to be provided continuously and systematically, either in writing or orally. The assessment is to provide reasons for the assessment and information about your competence as well as guidance as to how you can increase your competence in the trade. There must be documentation that periodic assessment has been provided.

As part of your periodic assessment you have the right to a conversation with your instructor at least once every half-year about your development in relation to the competence aims of the trade.

If you are a training candidate, you are to receive periodic assessment related to your individual training plan.

Self-assessment

As an apprentice or training candidate you must take active part in assessing your own work, your own competence and your own academic development. Your self-assessment is part of the periodic assessment.
