Key tasks include:

• mounting, maintenance, and repairs to pneumatic and hydraulic systems for boats
• mounting, maintenance, and repairs to electrical systems in mobile and stationary internal combustion engines and gear drives
• choice of materials and adaptation of details for engines and mechanical installations of actual machines, equipment and tools
• use of available computer technology
• servicing of the client register

An engine mechanic should be able to work systematically, be efficient and meticulous, independent, and work well with others. You should be good at working with your hands and be dexterous. An engine mechanic often has to deal with clients directly, and should be service-oriented and affable.
