Key tasks include:

• control checks and documentation that the pieces made are in accordance with drawings and specifications
• interpreting technical drawings with dimensions, tolerances, geometric tolerances, and standards
• choice of correct and efficient testing/measuring equipment in terms of product complexity
• servicing the testing/measuring machines, both manual and CNC-controlled
• computer programming according to the CAD-model, both offline and online
• maintenance of machines and appurtenant equipment

A dimensioning inspector should be meticulous, systematic, independent, and have a complete overview of the finished product. He should also be able to work well with others. This vocation demands insight in the use of computer data technology, and an understanding of how tooling machines work.
