An airframe mechanic performs assignments on aircraft structures, including wings and stabilizers.

Key tasks include:

• planning and executing inspections, troubleshooting, servicing, adjustments, dismounting, mounting, crack controls, repairs, locking, securing, modifications, functions testing, packing, checking, and conservation
• use and maintenance of necessary ground-based equipment
• assessment and documentation of one's own work and that of others, and reporting/follow-up of faults and deviations
• cooperation, guidance, and training
• choosing, using, and maintaining the necessary tools and testing and measuring equipment

To work within security zones at Norwegian airports, an expanded certificate of good conduct (a complete police certificate) is required.
