Crafts, design and product development

Dressmakers design and sew clothing. Key tasks include:

• Design, fitting, pattern design and alterations
• Sewing of clothing with good balance and fit
• Use of various machines/tools and various specialist equipment
• Use of ICT and digital aids suited to the trade
• Chose to evaluate materials and carry out form and colour analysis
• Customer service and guidance

You must be creative and dexterous and have an appreciation of form and colour. You must also be service-minded and enjoy meeting people.
