Documentation – recognized trades

Everybody who has completed upper secondary education and training has the right to have their education and training documented with a certificate of upper secondary education or a certificate of competence. A passed trade or journeyman’s examination is in addition to be documented by a trade or journeyman’s certificate.

Certificate of upper secondary education

Passed upper secondary education and training awarding the right to a trade or journeyman’s certificate is documented by a certificate of upper secondary education. It is the county’s responsibility to issue certificates of upper secondary education to apprentices.

Trade or journeyman’s certificate

When you have passed the trade or journeyman’s examination it is also the county’s responsibility to issue a trade or journeymans certificate.

Certificate of competence

Completed education and training that cannot be documented with a certificate of upper secondary education and a trade or journeyman’s certificate, is to be documented by a certificate of competence. The certificate of competence is to show the education and training that has been accomplished. Certificates of competence are also used as documentation of a skills test. The county authorities are responsible for issuing certificates of competence for apprentices and training candidates.
