Electrical engineering and computer technology

The laundry technician cleans and maintains all kinds of textiles, e.g. work clothes, bed linen, towelling, rugs and mops.  The tasks include all processes from receiving handed-in textiles, washing and finishing treatment to checking finished products and handing them back to the customer.  Key tasks are:   

• sorting textiles and removing foreign bodies
• planning and organizing the production
• setting, using and monitoring laundry machines and finishing treatment machines (e.g. rollers, presses and folding equipment) 
• helping to maintain machines and equipment 
• dealing with and using chemicals in accordance with regulations and procedures 
• assessing exposure hazards and following hygiene procedure
• controlling the finished product, packing and handing out clean textiles, if necessary transporting them to the customer
• preparing invoice vouchers

Out of consideration both for the working environment and for reducing exposure hazards, it is important to keep the premises clean, tidy and hygienic. You should also be meticulous and service-minded towards the customers.
