Knitting craftsmen work in smaller companies and workshops, where the individual craftsman carries out all the work processes himself.

Sentrale arbeidsoppgaver

Daily tasks for knitting craftsmen are these: design, development, production and sales of clothing and textiles, based on independent creativity and design capability, customers’ needs, tradition, fashions and trends.

Key tasks include:

Knitting of clothing and textiles, by machine and by hand
Preparation of materials, equipment and machines. Cleaning and maintenance, finishing and quality assurance
Design ideas, product development and reconstruction
Cooperation with customers, suppliers and others
Customer service, sales and marketing
Operation, finance and networking

Personlige egenskaper

You must be creative, dexterous and have an appreciation of form and colour. You must be able to communicate with all types of customers.
