Electrical engineering and computer technology

An airplane engine mechanic works on aircraft motors, piston engines, or gas turbines, and works with very expensive parts.

Key tasks include:

• planning and executing inspections, troubleshooting, servicing, adjustments, dismounting, mounting, crack controls, repairs, locking, securing, modifications, functions testing, packing, checking, conservation, and tool checks
• conservation and preparing motors for storage and transport
• mounting and dismounting motors at test-drive plants and on or in aircrafts
• handling parts
• assessment and documentation of one's own work and that of others, and reporting/follow-up of faults and deviations
• cooperation, guidance, and training

As an airplane engine mechanic, you must be able to assess your own and others' work critically. You should be able to work accurately and systematically.

To work within security zones at Norwegian airports, an expanded certificate of good conduct (a complete police certificate) is required.
