Crafts, design and product development

A handweaver works with the development, production and sales of textiles for use in interiors, clothing, decoration, ecclesiastical textiles or traditional textiles. This may involve short production runs, standard lengths, or unique articles. Key tasks include:

• Composition, patternmaking, material selection and production planning
• Analysis and reconstruction of existing patterns and textiles
• Set-up and weaving
• Finishing and installation
• Customer and supplier contact, sales and marketing of products and services
• Running the company and networking

You must be creative and meticulous and have a good sense of form and colour.
